PREPARING TO AUDITION
On the Men and Women audition tabs, you can listen to the brief songs and see the acting scenes you are asked to prepare for the audition. There is a recording of the songs being sung, as well as the piano accompaniment for you to prepare with. You will sing with these same exact tracks at the audition.
For singing or acting roles, you may choose to prepare as many of the pieces below as you’d like – from one selection to all of them.
IMPORTANT: While these audition cuts are from specific characters and songs in the show, it is very likely that you will be cast in a different role or solo singing assignment than these audition pieces. Please also realize that there are a limited number of solos and roles available – not everyone can be cast in a specific role. However, the CHORUS of the show is a vital and important part of the story and the show. No auditions are required for the CHORUS.
REHEARSALS: A detailed rehearsal schedule for the Cast will be available soon after the Cast is announced. Rehearsals will begin in late October and increase in frequency in November and December on weeknights and a few weekend dates. We do our best to accommodate everyone’s busy schedules, but – cast members must commit to be at rehearsals once we map out the schedule. If you are already busy most evenings and weekends with commitments in November/December, it’s probably best not to audition.
CHORUS REHEARSALS:
Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 pm on the following dates:
November 3, November 10, November 17, December 1
CAST & CHORUS – The period between December 6-15 leading up to the performances will have numerous rehearsal calls and later evenings. These will be announced well in advance.
